I want to be your elected representative for west Provo. I have been your voice in the neighborhood program for 5 years and when neighbors needed help, I was their advocate. Your concerns were my concerns! Allow me to continue to be your voice as a member the city council.
There is value and merit in differing opinions.
My experience as a Neighborhood Chair has allowed me to know the importance of listening to both sides before making a decision.
Multiple terms as a Provo City Neighborhood Chair
Multiple years as an Area Representative in the Provo City Neighborhood Program
Provo Police Dept. Advisory Board Member
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Service has always been a big part of my life.
When I became a Neighborhood Chair, I set out to leave the neighborhood better than I found it.
I have established better communication with not only my neighborhood but every neighborhood in Provo City Council District 3 by providing information in the neighborhood Facebook groups, answering questions, and advocating for residents.
I have also taken on the challenge of two matching grants. Those grants provided speed signs and new playground equipment for the Lakewood Neighborhood.

Hi, I’m Becky Bogdin and I’m asking to be your Provo City Council District 3 representative.
Ballots are in the mail and west Provo finally has its chance to have its own city council member. I was happy to be part of the conversation in 2022 as districts were redrawn.
I am ready to get to work on day one because I have been involved in local issues for years. I attend city council meetings and have years of experience bringing west Provo views and concerns to the attention of our city leaders. I have developed relationships with various city departments to report problems and get information.
That has helped me to understand how the city government works as well as its limits.
For example, some of the frequent complaints and requests directed at the city:
Can’t you keep Union Pacific from stopping their trains and blocking our roads? Well, railroads are governed by the federal government. Provo tries reaching out, but they can’t do much about it.
Why don’t we have more homeless resources in Provo? You might be surprised at the resources we do have and how much the Provo Police and community partners do as they discuss possible solutions. We also have to keep in mind that this is better handled (and funded) at the state level .
When are you going to make improvements on Geneva Road? Not every road in Provo is a city road. Geneva Rd, University Ave, and others are state roads. Geneva faces some other difficulties since improving the road and adding sidewalks would require more space and more land would need to be purchased. Some properties in the area have historic homes that would be in the way. I’ve talked to UDOT about this for years and it is a tough problem to solve.
I hope you’re as excited as I am about getting a voice for those of us on the west side and I’m looking forward to working hard for YOU.
